Blood, Sweat, and Tears

"Writing styles are not easy to come by, they are forged by fire, they are cooled by the tears of ones own eyes, and they are oiled by the authors own blood; sheathing that style is an entirely new level of pain." - Shy willow

Today's Prompt- Fire

He told me to wear something comfortable, I am not quite sure I am used to wearing clothing at other people's request. I guess in a way that is what I have always done, wearing clothes that I thought were flattering. I've just never taken requests before, much less been told what to wear, what color, or been given a dress code outside of school or work.

He doesn't like it when I am late, and says that being on time is nothing more than a subtle courtesy, rather I am to be at least 5 minutes early, preferably 10. Our relationship is new, fresh, and growing like a spark in a bed of dried leaves. We've had gust of winds that sped the pace of the burning. At the same time I am still new to how he thinks, works, and demands.

Sitting on the floor in front of the enclosed gas fireplace, like he asked, I watch the flames dance around carefree. It is hardly a chore to sit and watch them, I suppose I've always been a bit of a pyro. The warmth is comforting and the flame mesmerizing. Having zoned out a bit I was unaware he'd entered the room until I heard him clear his throat. He startled me back to earth and I jumped reaching for my heart at the scare.

We strode over and sat next to me on the floor. There is nothing so hot as the shadows dancing off of his body. I smile sweetly at him waiting to hear what he's to have me do next.

"I see you enjoy the fire." He said without turning his head towards me. I speak softly as if the fire itself was some sort of sacred thing, "I do, I find it comforting."

"Well tonight's theme is fire, but I am not sure how comforting I plan on being." His words instantly causing tension to build within my center. Before I had much time to savor the needing ache within me he leaned towards me, demanding my lips' attention.

Wrapped together holding each other close, we relish the heat on our exposed skin. After our breath finally settle, he said softly, "so you do really enjoy fire." I smile, grinning like a giddy schoolgirl, "oh yes, very much so" my giggles are met with his deep chuckle.
