In my life this week…
Stomach Virus. Duh duh duh. On the bright side some of my furniture and most of the carpet in the main portions of the house are newly cleaned… some areas many times over. Yuck. On the bright side most everyone is starting to feel better again. We all have shrunken stomachs, little energy, and mounting cabin fever.
In our homeschool this week…
We are forging forward in math. Pumpkin has been on a role in math, and rather than slowing him down I decided to go with the flow. I mean who would take advantage of, “mom if I get my writing done can I do some more math?”
Sweet Pea is still working her way through her preschool activities. Who-Rae is learning as much as she can, mimicking phrases that she finds especially exciting, and learning her own unique coloring style.
Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…
Roll with the punches. Sometimes those punches are from skeptics. Sometimes from illness. Sometimes those punches come from a child struggling to learn. Often times those punches come from our own self doubt, roll with them. Keep moving forward and don’t let a temporary hang-up turn into a long lasting crippling situation.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
We had to reschedule the dentist, so that is in our near future. We will also be headed back to the animal clinic to get out sick Bob rechecked, shots, and his teeth cleaned. Our area still seems to be expecting snow but we are planning lots of time outside. For our Easter excitement we will be visiting my parents, and for a first ever, my brother will be hosting our holiday meal.
My favorite thing this week was…
Watching my kids work together when they knew that I wasn’t feeling well. They are quite young and obviously not left alone, but they pulled together to entertain each other. I was impressed with how well they helped each other above and beyond their normal.
My kiddos favorite thing this week was…
Riding their bikes!
Things I’m working on…
Getting caught up on reading for school. I am behind after taking care of sick peoples, then coming down with it myself.
I’m cooking…
Soup, rice, and other equally gentle tummy foods.
I’m grateful for…
Gatorade…
I rewarded my kids this week by…
Conan decided that this week the kids should all be surprised with new shoes. They were very excited to come home and prance about in their new better fitting shoes.
Something I am ogling or have my eye on…
The tulips breaking earth in our flower beds. I am so very ready to get my hands int0 he dirt again soon. That dirt is currently mud however.
