Blood, Sweat, and Tears

"Writing styles are not easy to come by, they are forged by fire, they are cooled by the tears of ones own eyes, and they are oiled by the authors own blood; sheathing that style is an entirely new level of pain." - Shy willow

Mom's Journal 1/18/2013

In my life this week…

This week has been very much about getting back on track. We have been getting reacquainted with our schedule, and playing together, and learning about each other's grieving processes.

In our homeschooling this week…

We have been playing at crafts. Sweet Pea learned a bit about the pottery process as she painted and baked a micro tea set. Pumpkin has been unearthing (unplastering) mammoth bones anxiously awaiting that triumpant moment when he gets to put them all together. Who-Rae has been coloring with re-appearing ink, and enjoying the process of guessing at which Pooh critter she is discovering.

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…

Taking the time to understand their hurts, may temporarily slow things down, but building them up and growing together to get through those hard times is a powerful tool that comes in quite useful later.

I am inspired by…

Those large families out their that homeschool more than three children at a time.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

This week has been dance class, karate, reading work, karate again, grocery shopping, and the normal run of the mill, however, I am hoping to get in something a bit different next week.

My favorite thing this week was…

The eagerness the kids had all waking hours to play with their new art projects.

Questions/thoughts I have…

Why am I so tired in the mornings? This is not normal for me.

Things I’m working on…

Organizing, and continueing the decluttering projects this week.

I’m reading…

A lot of early American Literature, a lot about palentology and mammoths along with mammoth hunters, and also a mixture of books that Who-Rae has suddenly found herself interested in.

I’m cooking…
We made the most amazing gluten free, dairy free, pizza this week. In fact it was so amazing that my sister not only tried it, had a piece, but also ate a second helping. Finally success!

I’m grateful for…

Books, yarn and my many beautiful crochet hooks.

I’m praying for…

My sister.
