In my life this week…

This week was nice because it was the closest to a normal week we have had in a long time.

In our homeschooling this week…

This week we ventured to Kenya. Not in the usual way, but rather by learning the location of Kenya on the world map, crafting a flag, and learning a bit about the country. I was especially fun to overhear Pumpkin and Sweet Pea discussing how they would travel to Kenya. I think it would be an exciting trip left up to their planning!

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…

Sometimes going with intuition while teaching turns up surprising results.

I am inspired by…

Those large families out their that homeschool more than three children at a time.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

We enjoyed a visit to my sister’s this week. It was a bit out of the norm, which made it that much more fun. Granny Smith came too, and we played the card game Apples to Apples; never fails one of us ends up cracking up.

My favorite thing this week was…

Who-Rae put herself into Sweet Pea’s dance class. Of course she decided that since she was going to be there, she needs shoes. She ended up with ballet shoes that fit her cute tiny feet, and she was quite proud to show them off to anyone who would glance her way.

Questions/thoughts I have…

Today was a tough day, I had a later than usual teaching day, then my own homework was a bit more taxing than normal, plus to finish things off we did some bills. I am tired!

Things I’m working on…

I watched a video about the box method of homeschool material organization. I liked the idea, however our house is much to small to add anymore furniture. So I took the idea, and mashed it with my normal style, and something new and beautiful was born. I will be reporting on the new style as things progress and will report my findings along with pictures in days to come.

I’m reading…

The usual, along with Milly Molly Mandy, facts about Kenya, and I just started Treasure Island for my family book club.

I’m cooking…
Vegetables, I have been craving fresh veggies so that has been the focus this week.

I’m grateful for…

First aid supplies, Pumpkin was bouncing on his ball and fell face first into the dog’s kennel. Sadly we had pictures planned for tomorrow and he did some pretty impressive damage. Poor boy is tough though he is back to playing already, despite bandages on his face.

I’m praying for…

A strong resolve.
