Mom’s Weekly Journal 12/21/12

In my life this week…

This week has been interesting. We have been extremely busy. I am getting everything ready for our own special holiday traditions. This year I get the honor of hosting our family dinner.

In our homeschooling this week…

We continue to make headway and gain confidence. I thing that was another missing link lately. I am sure that Pumpkin lost a bit of confidence when his cousin of the same age came over and was reading better than he was. I had to convince he that he is doing well.

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…

Have FUN!

I am inspired by…

All those people reaching out to those poor hurting souls in Connecticut.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

Christmas lights! Each year we drive around town and pick out the brightest prettiest lights that we can find!

My favorite thing this week was…

We were all headed to the store to make a couple of rather important purchases. As we were walking up to the store, Pumpkin shouts with impressive enthusiasm “Mom! My zipper is MISSING”. I looked at his zipper and noticed that the foot was at the very top. I looked at him as he was frantically searching for his “zipper” and busted up laughing. I guess in this instance I truly needed the laugh, and it was such a hearty laugh that the lady we were walking passing who was loading her groceries, who had heard the excitement started laughing also, then of course Conan and Sweet Pea joined in and finally Who-Rae started to laugh, to just laugh.

Questions/thoughts I have…

I have a lot of these this week, they are mostly sad and not pleasant to share.

Things I’m working on…

I have been without the use of my right wrist this week. I am working on using my left hand. In actuality I am working to take better care of myself. I have put off getting help on my wrist for a long time, and even though I am not happy with the outcome, I know that in the end I will be more productive, and save myself pain over the course of my lifetime. In the end I should say that I am working on being less stubborn in certain arenas of my life..

I’m reading…
I have a two week break from school and I am working through my books as well as catching-up on my text book reading.

I’m cooking…
Laundry soap, cookies, more soup, ham, pork loin

I’m grateful for…

Family, my wonderful children, and hot showers!

I’m praying for…

Those poor people effected by this past weeks tragedy! My heart still seems to be broken for them all!
