Blood, Sweat, and Tears

"Writing styles are not easy to come by, they are forged by fire, they are cooled by the tears of ones own eyes, and they are oiled by the authors own blood; sheathing that style is an entirely new level of pain." - Shy willow

Homeschool Mother's Journal 11/2/2012

The Homeschool Mother's Journal November 2 Edition

In my life this week...

This week was exciting because of Halloween. Although we do little for this holiday, we still enjoy the time it affords us together doing fun projects. Carving pumpkins with all three children was a special delight. Pumpkin named his particular squash, Mr. Gunky as he dug out the insides. Sweet Pea enjoyed using tools to fashion her pumpkin, and Who-Rae stabbed her pumpkin to perfection, the way only a two year old can do.

In our home school this week…

Our home school this week progressed slower than I would have liked, and much of our learning was done outside of our books. However, some of those experiences add to the overall growth and personality of our darlings.

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…

I am sure this comes as nothing new to most homeschooling moms and dads, but I have been finding fun crafts, and interesting resources on Pintrest. I have been adding some of them to my Kiddo's Board, if you want to take a peak I have a Pinterest button.  I will be growing my board in this area.

I am inspired by…

This week, my professor. I was intimidated with my newest class. The way that he got me past my particular reservations was done professionally, and was a lesson I will carry with me for a long time. It is also a lesson that I can share with my children. When the tough is staring you in the face how you react is very important.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

We may be taking a road trip to visit Conan's parents, as they are soon to be closing on their home. We are very excited for them!

Things I’m working on…

I am continuing on my clutter purging work around our home. Slowly I am making progress, and the satisfaction that is coming is very liberating. I did not realize how much of a mess I had really let our living space become.

I’m reading…

My text book, "One World, Many Cultures" eighth edition by Stuart Hirschberg and Terry Hirschberg. Also, I am finally nearing the end of "Become a Better You" by Joel Osteen.

I’m cooking…

It seems that we are in a soup groove lately. I have been focusing on comfort foods as our fall transition is in full swing, and I am quite certain we will be welcoming winter soon.

I’m grateful for…

My husband who supports my craziness.
