I am appalled by politics these days! I often wonder if people, politically minded people, who throw poo at everyone else around them ever wonder exactly why it is they throw poo in the first place. I have gone in and out of different phases in my political mind; ranging from one extreme to an entirely different kind of extreme, and while my core values have changed very little, I have less and less respect for the way our system has evolved.
You would have to think very little of our country to not appreciate why politics were established in the first place, or rather why our freedoms were outlined to begin with. Differing opinions have always been, hence the reason we are a country in the first place. Differing opinions will always be, unless of course you appreciate the complete lack of freedom, and absolute lack of passion that would accompany the robotic automated person.
Our nation’s political system was meant to be used as a platform to create a wonderful country that allowed freedoms that were prohibited in countries that we all originally came from. Different offices and terms were established to protect us from tyranny, overpowering sorts of peoples and groups, and to prevent the majority from being run over by a power thirsty minority with nothing in mind but their own empowerment and selfish gain.
I recall a time when Americans had pride for their country and therefore had the deep embedded desire to pass on those feelings to their youth. I also recall a time where being of one party or another nearly classified you into some voting ideals. I do remember the throb of politics that pound at the foundation of its people, driving pride, progress, and in many ways a certain amount of cohesiveness. People would stand, speak, and live, to make positive changes that would help people prosper and would drive our country to the super-power it was very well known for at the time.
I remember a country that demanded those men and women that stood up for its people to speak passionately, intelligently, definitively, and with the people in mind, instead they speak with the war of civil unrest seething from their lips.
Passion: “intense, driving, or overmastering feeling or conviction”
I am truly disgusted and disappointed to see what that noble system has been degraded to. Noble men and women have turned into angry people paid to represent an individual thought or idea, not the whole. Articulate words that graced our hearts and motivated us to move forward, now words of sludge slow our hearts to the point we would rather plug our ears; merely poo being flung until the last man is standing.
Educational systems now have been pushed, bullied, and prodded with sticks until it is better to teach our future generation dull and dry information lacking passions, for fear of having a ton of political bricks dropped on their heads. How is that the right to an education? That sounds more like the right to an education dictated by people, with an agenda different than the betterment of our people and countries future.
Regardless of your particular party affiliation isn’t it time to hold our political system responsible for the robotic automated people we are creating? Why is it ok to throw poo, why is it ok to destroy another political person for your own selfish gain, why is our news media now taking political sides instead of holding the noble task of informing responsibly the masses? Why are our entertainers using their popularity to push their agenda? Yes, celebrities have the right to their opinion just as I do, but why do their opinions matter more than yours or mine? Do they honestly not realize they are pawns being used?
You may read this, and lay it all back in my lap by saying that I too am throwing poo. You may rather read this and say that you can see a very sad happenstance occurring in our country. Either way you are free to do so, I hope that I have not left a bitter sludgy sort of taste in your mouth, but rather the sweet taste of determination, responsibility, and freedom.
